Ford Uses 2Pac's "Rose That Grew From Concrete" In Their New 2013 Ford Fusion Ad

So I had just came home after a long day of hustling, and as I sit down to eat my food, I see a commercial that instantly grabs my attention.  A man walks into a room and puts a brief case on the floor.  He pulls out a box and sets it down.  It begins to light up and produce a hologram box.

Know if you know anything about Project Bluebeam, then you will know that the HolographicFuture is right around the corner.  This is one of the final agendas of modern technology.  What happened next, I did not expect.  The narrator says something like,

"Did you ever hear of the rose that grew from concrete?"

I instantly dropped my fork down on to my plate and stare at my tv.  My girlfriend has no idea what just happened.  I proceed to watch this holographic box turn into a giant cement block, which begins to get cut to shreds by some lasers.  This eventually cracks open the cement, and a red 2013 Ford Fusion is revealed.  It drives off into the distance, and a rose emerges from the concrete.
The commercial ends.

"What, you don't like the food?"  my girlfriend asked, staring at me.

I snap back to reality and realize that she has no idea what just happened.  "Do you know who that was?"

She looks at the tv, then back at me.  "The commercial?"

I sigh, already realizing what she is going to say.  "Yes, the commercial."

"I don't know.  I think it was a car commercial."

"Yeah, but you didn't hear...Never mind."

I get up from the table from a loss of appetite.  I walk over to my iPad and type in

"Ford Fusion 2013 Rose that grew from concrete."

How the hell could she have not known that 2Pac coined that phrase?

How the hell could Ford just steal 2Pac's phrase?

Isn't that plagiarism?

2Pac fans are going to be pissed!

Before I could finish that thought, I found a blog stating that 2Pac's estate actually signed off the phrase to Ford, allowing them to use it for the commercial.

When I read that, it seemed like time stood still.  Was anything sacred anymore?  They reduced a powerful catchphrase like that, down to a car commercial.  Part of me felt like it was still keeping 2Pac's legacy alive in the twenty first century.  Another part of me asked the obvious question,

"Well how the hell are people going to know that 2Pac coined that phrase?"

Even my girl had no idea.  I have mixed feelings about this and I'd like to get some feedback.  Do you think that 2Pac's estate should have signed off on this phrase?  Do you think Ford should have been forced to give 2Pac his props in the actual commercial?  How do you feel knowing that many people won't even realize that 2Pac coined this phrase?  How do you feel about 2Pac being featured in a Ford commercial?
