BRIGHTON BEACH, Brooklyn – Police have identified the suspect who waited for his 82-year-old victim to go to bed before raping and robbing her early Monday.

Evidence collected at the victim’s home links 18-year-old Asa Robert, pictured below, to the heinous crime, an NYPD spokesperson told PIX11 News Wednesday, a day after investigators released surveillance video of the attacker.

According to police, Robert crept into the victim’s home while she was outside sweeping the street just before 2 a.m. Monday. The culprit went inside her bedroom where he hid until she returned. That’s when, police said, he attacked her at knife-point, demanding money.
