2018 CONFERENCE THEME “MARKETING URBAN MUSIC IN THE DIGITAL ERA”
ATLANTA, GA (June 12, 2018) – The first annual Urban Music Conference will kick off its inaugural event and block party on July 13-15, 2018 in Atlanta, GA.
Hosted by a collaboration of SUMC and THAT RABBIT DISTRIBUTION, conference co-chairs Tony Baraka and Ray Hamilton state that the conference is designed to bring together a diverse group of musicians and entertainers.
Attendees will be provided with information on digital music distribution, technological engagement and platform creation. Daily power seminars will be provided by music industry professionals.
The theme for the conference is ‘Marketing Urban Music in the Digital Era’.
Over the course of the three-day conference, guests will learn how to market urban music in the digital era. They will hear about the latest technology being used in the music business and how to engage an audience. Power seminars will include methods to create a platform and an in-depth discussion of the benefits of digital distribution will be provided. This year’s conference will also feature a block party from an array of Independent Artists Performing.
According to SUMC co-conference Chairman Tony Baraka, “This is the first time in history that we will be taking the SUMC brand along with our new partner THAT RABBIT MUSIC DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION and creating different platforms from power seminars, technology engagement and a block party as part of our celebration.”
According to Ray Hamilton Conference Co-Chair, “This year’s seminars and block party along with live performances, will happen at the Hungry Ghost located at 345 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta, GA.”
Hamilton stated, “There will be a special honoring of some of the top DJ’s in Atlanta as well as engaging seminars on branding, digital distribution, publishing and much more.”
“The block party will include live performances, a marketplace (booths) area and branded sponsored lounges for attendees,” added Hamilton.
The SUMC THAT RABBIT Urban Music Conference & Block Party is being sponsored by Sony Music, The Orchard, I Heart Radio and Microsoft. The seminars are made possible by Sound Exchange, ASCAP, BMI & SESAC.
