Self-proclaimed princess of VA, singer, songwriter, and philanthropist, Fee Blu is a beacon of rawness, empowerment and evolving class, making her one of the freshest new voices of the contemporary music era. She is a hybrid of beauty, talent and intelligence, as she has a degree in engineering that was her plan B.
”Raised up in the hood, a bad girl gone good. I know that you remember me, but I’m not what I use to be”.
Born in South Boston, Virginia, Fee Blu began her journey to the top by singing in her church choir and to the drug dealers at the mailboxes in the underprivileged neighborhood where she found her roots.
Her music reminds you of a mixture of old school 90’s R&B with a new age millennial vibe; coupled with a crisp, yet raspy, soulful sound with subtle hints of inspiration. She’s a trumpeter and a self-taught pianist that co-produces on most of her own tracks.
In 2006, Fee signed her first songwriter contract with So Inkredible at the height of their initial success, penning rap hooks and R&B records for multiple affiliated artists. Influenced by her idol Mary J Blige, along with Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner and Elton John, Blu has morphed all of her influences into a street savvy, yet classic R&B soulful sound.
