UPDATE: Memphis Police have charged Tequila Benton, 36, with second degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Stephen Wright Monday afternoon in the 5000 block of Dianne Drive.

The 23-year-old victim was found by police with an apparent stab wound and was later pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in an altercation with Benton, at which time she stabbed Wright.

Benton was taken into custody and later charged with second degree murder.

She is expected in Shelby County General Sessions Court Wednesday morning.
