The Future of the HOODX Westcoast CEO is Unknown
Hasan Blount aka HB The Mealticket is an independet rapper from Tacoma, Washington. He was appointed CEO of HOODX Westcoast in January of 2014 after networking with HOODX CEO K-Blao.
"I met this brother on the street when it was freezing outside," K-Blao said in his official statement. "He was at a Big Lots with his dad and I told him that I wanted to support him because I respected his drive. I explained to him the direction that HOODX was going in for 2014 and he said that he would help us. Over the next several months, this brother and I spent many hours over the phone networking as I did everything in my power to help market him. I spent hours editing video for him as well as getting him television airtime in Chicago, New York, Rhode Island, Indiana, and parts of California.
I would have gotten him airtime in Pittsburg, but Yung'n Voorheez is ignoring all of our attempts to network as well.
It took over three months before Hasan would finally register as a local television producer on behalf of HOODX. Because Seattle Community Media gives users the opportunity to upload video from home, all he had to do was register his name and do a couple of follow up calls. He wouldn't even do that. Keep in mind the first video that I uploaded to Seattle Community Media was his promo, 'Who is HB The Mealticket?', which was a half hour long and took countless hours to produce. I even paid the yearly fee for him.
After a few weeks of the buzz dying down about his promo, I would tag him in HOODX promos, but he wouldn't comment or share on the post. A few weeks after that, he wouldn't even like the posts. To me it seemed like another clear case of a rapper who only cares about their self. At this point it has been a waste of time and money."
HOODX Revolution King, Dawah Yisrael made an attempt to reach out to Hasan but received no answer either. "I have left him voice messages as well as text messages. I didn't get anything back. I hope everything is okay."
Firebox2300 CEO Maco Scott also attempted to reach Hasan. "I called him and we talked real quick. He told me he was going to call me back but never did. I guess he's just too busy for us. We probably should just replace him because he is too busy."
HOODX President Poemoe said, "This is exactly why I tell Maco not to network with these types of niggas who just try to use you to get ahead. Why would we still put his video on HOODX Backstage Episode 1 if he isn't even returning our phone calls? But yet in still, it's in there. He's not doing us any favors, so why should we continue to support him?"
Hasan could not be reached for comment.
